about

I love experimenting with music equipment, and this song was inspired by one of my experimental sessions at TC-Helicon headquarters in Victoria, CA. I had so much fun playing with the FX that I wrote a song just so I could use them.

lyrics

How could you be so cold?
How could you just shut down like that?
I open the doors you shut
But even then you turn your back.

First you’re on and then you’re off
Shut me down then wanna talk – no in between
Should I stay or should I go?
Just say the word, I wanna know. Just tell me.

Don’t be such a machine.

I remember the times
When everything good between us multiplied.
But now everything’s changed
And I think that I feel the great divide.

Things aren’t always black and white
We can talk, no need to fight – there’s space between.
Or have you already done the math?
What you add and I subtract – what does it mean?

You’re such a machine.

Oh no, not again.
This human heart can’t match your engine.

You’re such a machine.
Don’t be such a machine.
